Dear me

Dear future me,
It's been years of your perseverance and your constant quivering about your place in the world.
But I've got, for you, a start!

Remember the words, imprint them in your heart,
You're a fighter, stronger than the one who hurt you or will hurt you,
Your smile, god your smile, believe me it will get brighter
Your heart, yes, that strong heart will get kinder and full
With every person that will light up your day, and then, your months and years.
But here's the thing, love
You will love yourself a tiny bit more, or rather, a lot more.
Every fleeting moment of pride, and every fragile decision of yours
It will only make you love yourself a little more.
And until then dear future me,
You've got what I'd like to call, the will.
